John is a Property, Projects and senior Board Director with over 35 years’ experience as a Director of private and public companies, from start-ups to SME’s and large companies, in both the UK and USA.
A Chartered Surveyor and a RICS/MATA Accredited Commercial Mediator, John recently retired as a Trustee and Non-Executive Director of The Bell Foundation, an English language charity, having served the maximum 9 year term, during which he was also the Chair of the Asset Management Committee. Until the end of 2022, John was also retained by Uniserve, one of the largest privately owned logistics companies in the UK, to mentor and support the new Property Director having retired from that position at the end of 2021.
John’s role at Orchestra Land is to support and provide guidance at both company and project level to the Executive Team and to play an active part in the Company’s growth.
Bassil Aslam

Bassil has over 15 years’ experience in the industry, having worked for larger housing developers in acquisition and planning departments prior to founding Orchestra Land. His hands on experience was gained in residential development acquisition, disposal, obtaining planning and he enjoys solving planning and development constraints having acquired land and obtained planning permissions for thousands of homes.
Bassil obtained his BSc (Hons) degree in Planning and Property Development from Nottingham Trent University and is a Chartered Planning and Development Surveyor and Associate Town Planner. As a Board Member for the RICS eastern region, he assists fellow surveyors through the APC process in gaining their professional accreditation, as well as assisting the board on a variety of matters including 'Inspiring The Next Generation of Surveyors'. In September 2019, Bassil was shortlisted for RICS Young Surveyor of The Year in the Land and Rural category.
Outside of work Bassil enjoys raising money for charities that he cares about and recently took part in a 50 mile bike ride raising awareness and money for Land Aid to help end youth homelessness.
Jonathan Bartlett

Jonathan has a background in Construction Project Management (BSc) and Spatial Planning (MSc) from the Oxford Brookes University. His 12 years' experience is achieved in large scale infrastructure, leisure, commercial and residential construction projects in the UK and Middle East in addition to his role of Land and Planning Manager with us. Jonathan is working towards his RTPI and RICS accreditations.
In his time with the company, Jonathan has expanded the business operations in to new regions across the South East and is working with landowners and developers on delivering residential led sites through the planning process.
Outside of work Jonathan likes to play tennis, football, cycling, kayak and recently took part in a 50 mile bike ride alongside colleagues to raise money for Mind mental health charity.
Caia Yeung

Caia graduated from Sheffield University with a MPlan in Urban Studies and Planning and has a background in Construction Project Management. She has recently qualified and been elected as a Member of the Chartered institute of Building (MCIOB) and is now working towards completing her RICS APC. She has been involved in various courses with spatial planning and real estate across London and the Midlands.
She has an emerging interest in delivering residential and commercial projects through close collaboration to help deliver sustainable communities for the future. She has experience in both the private and public sectors. Prior to joining Orchestra Land, Caia worked for the London Borough of Southwark and a private planning consultancy where she was responsible for dealing with a wide-ranging scale of different development schemes.
Her role at the company includes research and assisting on site promotions and planning applications.
Outside of work, Caia enjoys running and cycling.
